DNC Philadelphia Photos

The Democratic National Convention began in Philadelphia on Monday with protest marches down Broad Street from City Hall to FDR Park, a distance of two or three miles. I'd say there were about 5000 people in the park, across from the convention center, and many if not most were shouting support for Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein, yelling loudly they would never vote for Hillary Clinton.

There is a police presence, but no where near the numbers as in Cleveland, and here they're all Philadelphia police. In general, the mood and feeling is a lot more relaxed and far less futuristic/martial law than the RNC.

Jill Stein was going to speak in the park in the evening, but it started to rain pretty hard and they cancelled it.
